2024-12-06

Students from Zhejiang Normal University clinched a silver award at the 14th National Finals of the Challenge Cup QinChuangYuan Platform National College Students Entrepreneurship Competition, held at Xian Jiaotong University from October 29 to November 2. The project, Chinese Echo—The Revolutionary Innovator in Business Chinese Education under the Belt and Road Initiative, led by Gong Xuanying from the College of Foreign Languages, stood out in the Belt and Road International Invitational Tournament.

The competition brought together teams from across the nation, each presenting projects developed with an eye towards practical application and societal benefit. The Chinese Echo project, which began as a practical Chinese course website, has registered three software copyrights, laying a strong technical foundation for future development.

This is not the first time the project has been recognized; it previously won a gold award in the school-level competition in January and a silver medal at the provincial level in June. The team underwent rigorous preparation, including over 50 oral defense coaching sessions and more than 60 PPT revisions, enabling them to refine their presentation and alignment with societal needs.

The College of Foreign Languages at Zhejiang Normal University actively promotes innovation and entrepreneurship among its students, using competitions as a platform to enhance learning and develop skills. The school’s Youth League Committee has been instrumental in supporting the team, drawing on experts from both within and outside the university to provide professional guidance.

This recent achievement highlights the dedication of both the students and faculty at Zhejiang Normal University and reflects the institutions commitment to fostering practical skills and innovative capabilities in its students. It also emphasizes the importance of moral education and the development of students who are not only proficient in foreign languages but also possess a deep understanding of their own culture and the skills to engage on an international stage.

As the university looks to the future, it is clear that such competitions will continue to play a vital role in preparing students for the challenges of the global marketplace, encouraging them to use their academic and technological expertise to drive innovation and entrepreneurship.
